Effective August 29, 2025, the US has eliminated the “de minimis” duty-free exemption for low-value shipments, which previously allowed parcels under $800 to enter the country without duties. This means that all shipments are now subject to duties and customs clearance, regardless of their value.
For most exports from the EU to the US, a 15% duty will now apply, including goods in the automotive, auto parts, semiconductor, and pharmaceutical sectors. Higher duties of 50% remain in place for steel, aluminum, and copper originating from the EU.
At Mail Boxes Etc., we help businesses navigate these changes by offering tailored solutions and support to keep shipping to the US as smooth and stress-free as possible.
